August 2025
August was a vibrant month of community celebrations, as residents came together to mark National Day and enjoy activities that fostered unity and neighbourliness.
Kebun Baru National Day Observance Ceremony 2025 – Celebrating SG60 Together
Red and white flags waved in the morning breeze as more than 1,300 Kebun Baru residents filled the hardcourt in front of Mayflower Wet Market and Food Centre, ready to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday together on Saturday, 9 August 2025. The Kebun Baru National Day Observance Ceremony 2025 Carnival Edition kicked off with a crisp march-in by Mayflower Secondary School’s National Cadet Corps and NPCC, followed by the flag raising, the National Anthem, and the Pledge. Our Adviser, Mr Kwek Hian Chuan Henry, welcomed everyone and reminded us of the simple but powerful strength of community spirit.
The stage came alive with energetic performances - from the samba rhythms of Saudação Batucada, to the precision of Mayflower Drill Squad, and the vibrant Chinese, Modern, and Indian dances. Residents joined in a heartwarming National Day singalong before wrapping up the morning with a lively Mass Zumba session. Meanwhile, carnival booths kept the fun going with games, activities, and tasty treats for everyone. A big thank you to our partners - the Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 Neighbourhood Shopkeepers’ and Hawker Association, Kitzig Design, and Mayflower Secondary School - for helping make the celebration unforgettable. We also took a moment to honour some Everyday Heroes who quietly make Kebun Baru a better place. It was a joyous morning that showed exactly what makes Kebun Baru special: a community that comes together to celebrate, connect, and have fun.

A morning of flags, fun, and community spirit at Kebun Baru.

A towering celebration with our stilt walker bringing extra joy to Kebun Baru.
